Completely unpoetic, but I strongly recommend glucosamine. (You can get it OTC in giant bottles at Costco.) I was taking it for a bad knee -- it's essentially the lubricant our joints produce naturally -- and it did WONDERS for my tmj. Hope this helps.
Oh. I am SO GLAD I thought twice before mentioning aloud what my TMJ specialist told me: computer time makes TMJ worse b/c you clench your jaw during screen time.
Who knew.
So glad I kept that to myself.
